“Alright, come on just stay o- fuck.” The loose bandages she was attempting to tie around her upper arm fell once again. Why was this so much harder then it needed to be? She had two- well, sort of, two hands, you’d think that’d be enough to tie a stupid bandage around your arm, but nooo, all the anatomy shit has to keep getting in the way. From her perch on her bed, she noticed through the open door that she’d left a trail of blood in the hallway when she’d ran in. Great, Eric would have to clean that up too. She turned her attention back to the large gash near her right shoulder and once again tried to bandage it up.

"All right, I guess I'll get started then..." Ian sighed as he got up to leave the common room, knowing he had a long evening of studying ahead of him. As much as he really didn't feel like staring at words tonight, he knew his parents would have his neck if they found out he'd been slipping up on his study schedule. "And we wouldn't want that now, would w--" Ian cut himself off once he noticed the trail of red running down the hall, leading straight to Eric's room. Blood. A short gasp escaped his mouth and he picked up speed, stopping once he got to her doorway.
Inside the room, he could see the girl Scout fumbling with a set of bandages... albeit unsuccessfully. "Is... Is everything okay?" He asked, cautiously taking a step towards her. Well, obviously everything was not okay, but he honestly didn't know what else to say.

Eric jumped, nearly dropping the roll in her hand once again. "Oh, hey, didn't see you there," she replied, still fumbling with the bandages, "Yeah, fine, just a, uh, minor accident." She sighed and looked at the medic for a minute, then held out the bandages and reluctantly asked, "Would you give me a hand here?" Granted, if she kept at it she probably could fix up the wound herself- in a few hours or so- but her patience with the task was already wearing thin. Besides, if anybody was going to help her, it might as well be the medic.

"Y-Yeah, of course." Taking the bandages from Eric, Ian got a closer look at her wound. Yeah, it was definitely not okay, but it was nothing he couldn't fix. Thing is, the medic could barely tell where the arm gash started or ended, because there was so much of a bloody mess around it. "Yikes... we should really uh... get this cleaned up first. Is that okay?" He motioned for her to follow him to the ward -- he could do a better job there.

She shrugged. "Hey, suit yourself." Eric stood and began following the medic, wincing slightly with every step. Already she was starting to regret asking the man for help. This should have just been an easy one step process, but no, they gotta up and go all the way down to the medical ward and "clean the wound" and all that bullshit.

Once they got into the ward, Ian pointed at one of the chairs in the room, hoping Eric would take the notion to sit down. Then he went to one of the drawers, pulled out a sterile rag, and ran it through water. "It shouldn't take much... I just don't want it to get any worse on you." Once he got back to Eric, he dabbed at the area around the gash with the rag, making an effort to try and be as careful as possible.
Once it looked clean enough, Ian took the bandage roll and quickly wrapped up the now-clean arm -- he'd always had a knack for dressing wounds. Then he took a step back an inspected his work. "Y'know, you're pretty lucky that the spot is as high up on your body as it is, otherwise... it might--" He stopped for a second, thinking that Eric probably didn't care, but continued anyway. "...not have stopped bleeding on its own. ...It should be okay for now, though."

Eric fiddled with her dog tags, trying to distract herself while the medic worked. "I know." She replied when her was done, eyeing the bandages. "If it had been lower though, I could have just taken care of it myself easily. I kind of have a whole drawer full of medical shit..." She paused and laughed a bit nervously before continuing, "...that I kind of took from here. Hope you don't mind."

To be honest, Ian wasn't sure what he thought about Eric admitting to having smuggled medical supplies. Was it because she didn't think he could do his job? That he was just a shitty young doctor? He really hoped the slightly hurt feeling wasn't showing up on his face. "...Y-Yeah, I guess that's okay," He started, and felt himself getting more nervous. "Just... don't be afraid to come find me -- I mean, if it becomes too much." Then the medic quickly turned around and started putting things away.

She didn't reply, instead choosing to study him for awhile as he cleaned up the ward. "...Hey, I gotta question for you." Eric leaned back in the chair and folded her arms, ignoring the dull pain in her shoulder. "Why do you seem so nervous all the time? You act like I'm gonna bite you if you say the wrong thing." Considering her usually attitude toward everyone, that actually was a legitimate concern for others, of course, the "biting" was more metaphorical then physical.

Ian was reaching into another cabinet for a towel when she asked him the question. He stood up with a clean cloth and turned towards her. "No, no... it's not you. I--" He cut himself off for a second to gather his thoughts... yet again. "I just have trouble talking to people who I've just met... that's all." The last part came out slightly rushed, and then the medic bolted out of the ward to clean up the trail of blood in the hallway.

After he left Eric sighed and ran a hand through her hair. Having put up with dicks for medics for so long, it was just weird to see someone like Ian. Oh well. Best thing she could do is just try to get on his good side. Being friendly with your teams medic almost always payed off. She stood and followed the medic out to the hallway and paused in the doorway. "Hey, dude, you don't have to do that, I should be the one to clean it up."

"Nah... it's no big deal." Ian responded to the girl without turning around to face her. "Besides," The towel fell out of his hands and landed at the start of the trail. "I already started anyway." Laughing a little bit, the medic used his feet to move the towel along the floor towards Eric's room. Behind him, Ian could see that the floor was being stained by the blood here and there -- but he knew there was nothing he could do about that.

Eric hung back in the doorway and frowned. Well it wasn't like so could just walk past him and go about her business. It was her mess, someone else shouldn't have to clean it up. She turned on her heel and went back into the room, returning a moment later with a rag of her own. Moving a bit passed Ian she knelt down and began helping. "At least let me help you dude, this is my problem." She muttered.

"Alright... suit yourself." Ian realized there wasn't any harm in her helping, but he didn't see what the big deal was. To him, this wasn't really a 'problem' -- just something that needed to be done. And what better way of making sure it's done than by doing it himself? He shrugged off the thought though, as he cleaned up in the opposite direction Eric was working on. "Thanks, though."

She nodded and mumbled, "Uh, yeah, don't mention it." Someone thanking her in a completely unsarcastic tone. How refreshing. Eric continued to wipe up the floor, an awkward silence began to settle over the two. She sat back on her heels for a moment and thought about something, anything to say. If they had to keep at this for awhile they might as well be talking. "Soooo..." she started, "You're, uh, pretty young for a medic."
