On the other hand Zach was still upstairs in his room, just barely done with his morning routine. It had been a rough night alright, the Spy decided to finish the rest of the wine and wasn’t back at base until quite late. He woke up later than he intended with a terrible headache and no one to blame but himself. He tightened his tie and adjusted down at the invisiwatch on his wrist; /Maybe I should just switch this on and sneak out for the day./ He thought.
Fran was walking purposely down the hall, a weathered bonesaw in her hand and her medi-pack strapped to her back. Her heart was beating fast, almost in time with her brisk steps. Now that the cease-fire had ended she could hardly think of anything else but the battlefield. She turned a corner and nearly walked into Zacharie as he fiddled with his watch. “Good morning Sleeping Beauty!” She said, quite a bit more cheerfully than she might have were she not so eager for a fight. “I was wondering when you’d drag yourself out of your room. There’s a disturbance down at the base. I’m on my way there now and you probably should be too.” As she glided past him she pulled an empty wine bottle from one of the pouches at her waist and slid it into the spy’s hands. “By the way, you left this outside.” She gave a knowing grin and was off.
/Ouch./ The Spy stood dumbfounded at what just happened to him, he glanced down at the bottle and then back up. He watched her leave just as quickly as she had arrived. /Damn./ He stood there for a moment, sort of dumbfounded. It felt like forever had passed before he snapped out of it.
“Tch.” He shook his head, tossing the bottle into a nearby crate. Intruders? Fantastic. It was time for him to finally get things started. No parties or friendly how-do-you-do. It was on now. Zach picked up the pace and nodded to Gordon as he passed, he was still a little out of it but he had his best poker face on. It had to do for now.
