Spinning on her heel Eric made her way back to the entrance of the RED base. Well this is dumb. How the hell is she supposed to know where any of the RED shit is? Perfectly identical. What bullshit. She slowly made her way out of the base, taking her time and looking around. Maybe there were papers about the old base in the intel room? Granted the medic said that some documents had been destroyed but, hey who knows. With that thought in mind she picked up her pace and descended the stairs down into the teams intel room.
The air inside the basement like room was damp and musty, almost hard to breath. The few lights still glowing flickered every few seconds, giving the area a dark and eerie light. Eric paused at the base of the stairs and surveyed the hallway leading to the opposing teams intel room. On second thought, perhaps this wasn't such a good idea. The hallway looked incredibly uninviting. Yes, maybe that was best, just leave, go back to her own base, then the REDs wouldn't throw a fit and... wait, no, no she was being a pussy. Come on, it wasn't as if the place was pitch black. Just run in, get the files from the intel, run out. Easy. She took a deep breath and started walking briskly down the short hallway.
The actual room that held the intel room was even darker than the hallway, with only one dim light bulb lighting the RED briefcase. Nope. This was not boding well at all. Even the water soaking through Eric's socks felt more cold and malevolent than usual. Okay, well, water can't really be malevolent but, if it could this water would practically be screaming malevolent. Alright, come on, it was right there, a few feet, no problem at all. A bit cautiously Eric approached the briefcase and came to a stop in front of it. Moving quickly now she opened it and began shifting through the files, being careful not to drop any in the water below. Blah blah, deaths, new weapons, Mann co. shit, not the thing shes looking for, not it either... She paused suddenly. Huh, what a familiar feeling, it seemed almost as if somebody could possibly be behind Eric watching he- She whipped her head around, and breathed a slight sigh of relief. The RED pyro, whatsherface, was standing in the doorway of the room, masked for some reason, but unarmed.
"Oh, hey, sheesh you fucking scared me."
The pryo stared at her in response. Eric shrugged. "Hey, fine, be that way." She went back to sorting through the files, occasionally glancing back at the pyro. Admittedly, it was a bit creepy that she wasn't saying anything, but hey at least somebody was there now. After a few minutes the search yielded no results, and with a sigh Eric returned the briefcase to it's spot in the wall. She looked back at the pyro once more, surprised to find she still hadn't moved. A nervous smile crossed her face. "Ehehe, I hope you don't mind. I wasn't like, looking for personal files or anything. The uh, old base, y'know, the one your medic was talking about in her dumb ghost story? I wanted to see if like, there was any indication of where it was at and like if I could take, uh, a look around, or something..." She trailed off, becoming more and more unnerved by the pyros silence.
It's not as if Eric could just ignore her and try to leave, she was blocking the doorway. Awkwardly Eric began walking in an arch toward the pyro, pretending to look around the room. "This is, uh, pretty old looking place. Maybe you should like, consider changing the light bulbs or somethiiing..." Fuck, why wasn't she saying anything? Was this some sort of sick twisted form of revenge? Because if it was this chick was a mastermind. Finally Eric came to a stop a few feet away from the pyro, all the while the emotionless mask had been following her movements.
"Alright look, whatever you're trying to do, it's getting old, alright? I'm sorry for taking your jell-o, if that's what you're all up and arms about." The pyro only tilted its head slightly in response. Eric rolled her eyes and sighed. "Fine, gonna just be a stubborn bitch? I'm not surprised." Oh well, enough of this bullshit. The intel room was dark and creepy and she wasn't gonna let some stupid enemy pyro keep her down there. She gave up waiting for any response and moved toward the pyro, intending to shove her aside and leave.
When she reached the pyro however and attempted to push her aside, there was no resistance, and Eric nearly stumbled into the water with surprised. What the fuc- She turned to try and figure out what had just happened, only to find no pyro standing behind her in the doorway. Hahaha. Haha. Hahahaha... nope. Nope. Without even thinking, Eric turned and bolted out of the intel room and back into the open.
