"S-Sorry." Ian spat out, feeling himself calm down again. He was hesitant with the rag, since he noticed the discoloration, but ended up applying it to his foot anyway. He took another look at the piece of glass in his hand, but couldn't identify what it would have come from. ...Or how it managed to find itself in Eric's room. Could this be the same glass that she saw before?
Okay, now he actually was going crazy. There's no way that someone could have gotten past the two of them and moved all of this here. Not even a Spy, in such a short time frame. So then... what was going on?
After tying the cloth around his injured foot, Ian brought his knees up to his chest and lowered his head to them. To be honest, he didn't feel safe in the Scout's room at all after that -- even with the light -- but couldn't will himself to say anything about it.

Ignoring Ian's response, she turned her attention to the wide open door that almost seemed to invite the eerie darkness just beyond into the room. Eric plucked up one of the thicker comic books off of a shelf next to the desk and used to to sweep the glass out of reach of the doors swing. As she worked, her mind spung with questions. What the fuck was going on? Was this some sort of joke? Was it actually the RED spy or was there some sort of malevolent spirit in the BLU base that the RED medic had neglected to mention? Whatever was going on, it was scaring the shit out of Eric, and as time passed it was showing more and more.
With the glass safely pushed aside in a pile, she stood and swung the door shut, locking it as soon as it was closed. Well, that was one thing taken care of. She tossed the comic she had used as a broom back on the bookshelf and plopped down in the chair in front of the desk with a sigh. "So, what now?" Her gaze was locked on the ceiling, and she didn't even notice how upset the medic seemed to be.

When he heard the door shut and click to be locked, his heart dropped into his stomach. Now he really was stuck in Eric's room. I guess it could be worse. I could be out there. Alone. With... whatever else is messing with us. Or it could still be in here--
Ian really wasn't good at comforting himself. He buried his head even deeper into his knees and groaned.
"I don't know." The Medic's reply was short and muffled into his sleep pants. He honestly felt too uneasy to even try to go to bed again, as much as he wanted to.

Eric finally turned her gaze toward Ian and frowned when she saw him curled up. Fuck. Was he gonna cry? She hoped not. If he did she might just opt with confronting what ever was outside in the dark. She glanced at the clock on top of the dresser. 3:32am. Still four or five hours until sunrise. Alright, lets move on, lighten the mood. If he wants to leave, fine, let him, but if he stays... well, we need something to do, or at least talk about... As she thought she fiddled with one of the loose strings in the large worn out shirt she used as a nightgown. "Uh, hey, so, like..." She started awkwardly, "If you wanna like, just go back to your room that's cool. I mean, if you wanna stay I don't really care, but, just sayin'."

Ian peeked up at Eric from his knees while she talked. He didn't seem like he was going to cry. I mean, obviously he wasn't going to -- everyone knows men can't cry.
...They can apparently curl up and groan like pansies though.
As much as he felt like leaving, he decided it would be better to first weigh out his options. Would it really be best to go off by himself? The fact that he didn't really want to be alone was enough to keep him planted at the foot of Eric's bed.
"I think I can manage here. I mean-- if you're sure you don't mind." He responded softly, looking around the faintly lit room a bit. He noticed quite a few comic-related things on the walls and the shelf, which he thought would be an excellent subject change. "You uh, like superheroes...?" He started, trying his best not to sound invasive.

At the mention of superheroes she immediately perked up. Crossing her legs and spinning the chair toward the bed she replied, "Pf, naw, what gave it away?" She chuckled and continued, "Yeah, I do, they're pretty fucking cool."

Seeing Eric lighten up a bit started to ease his nerves as well. Ian smiled and folded his legs down Indian-style. "That's neat." He commented, still eyeing the objects on the wall. "I always thought they looked pretty cool, but-- I mean, I never got to indulge in stuff like that very often..." There was one point as a child where he'd asked his parents to buy him one of the comics, but they refused. Even still, he did happen to catch Superman cartoons on TV every once in a while -- so it's not like he was completely in the dark about those kinds of things.
Ian snapped out of his thoughts. "Which one's your favorite, then?" He asked, after failing to draw that conclusion by himself. The objects around the room were too obscured by the lack of light, so he couldn't tell exactly.

She grinned and rolled her eyes. "Um, Batman, of course. He's only the coolest motherfucker ever." As Eric spoke she gestured at the large Batman poster above the bed behind Ian. "All the stuff I have is mostly Batman, but I've got a lot of Wonder Woman and other DC shit, and this one indie comic." She plucked a comic off of the desk behind her and began flipping through it. "Oh yeah, if you ever wanna borrow any of these go for it, long as you return them I don't really care."

"...Um, yeah. I'll keep that in mind... Thanks." Ian smiled and made a mental note about it. He was definitely interested in taking Eric up on her offer, but at a time that was more... appropriate. He put his hands on his knees and began to rock back and forth idly.

"So like," she stopped leafing through the book to look at Ian again, "Where did you grow up? If you, er, don't mind me asking." It was nearing 4am now, and if there was one that that'd easily kill an hour or two, it was talking about each other.

Ian continued to rock himself back and forth -- the action was oddly comforting. "Uh, nowhere special. I'm from Cincinnati." He spoke modestly. "This area's a lot... different, than what I'm used to; it's not a bad change though." It was true. Ian seemed to appreciate a quiet life more often than not, so getting away from the large city he was raised in was kind of nice for him.
"What about you?" The Medic felt obligated to return the question.

She shrugged. "Detroit. Pretty shitty place compared to this, if you can believe it." Admittedly, although it was pretty shitty, she actually did kind of like her home town. Had she grown up there raised by someone different, that would be even better. "That place was full of jackasses though, let me tell you. Dudes would give you a fucking mouthful if you looked at them wrong."

"Something tells me that... I wouldn't last too long if I ended up there." Ian remarked with a small chuckle. Back in Ohio, he normally kept to himself when around others, which never really resulted in anything awful happening.
"Speaking of that," He stopped rocking and leaned into one of his hands. "Do you ever miss being back at home? I mean-- since you've probably been here for a while, and everything..."

"Well..." She chewed her cheek thoughtfully. Eric wasn't exactly keen on reciting her lifes story to, well, anyone, and most responses she gave would probably warrant explanation. "No, not really. Yeah the city was cool but, my mom and I never really got along." She finally said. Eager to keep him from questioning further she quickly added, "What about you?"

He wouldn't have pressed the girl further anyway -- the fact that he was requesting that someone open up to him so freely made him feel rude. Ian cleared his throat.
"Well... yeah, of course." He started, his eyes wandering around again. "Home is... familiar, y'know? And then there's my family too." Since he hadn't really been away at Sawmill for nearly as long as everyone else, the Medic was still trying to adjust more than anything. He'd probably end up with a little homesickness later on, no doubt. For now though, he knew he could manage.
"I... also didn't have to deal with all of this broken glass at home." He giggled kind of awkwardly, trying to make light of what got the two here in the first place.
