Paulie groans. He drags himself up against a building, leaning against it tiredly. He winces, one eye forced shut because of the fact dirt kept getting kicked up into his face. He lets out a long sigh, rubbing his eyes, trying to make out the buildings around, but obviously unable to do so. His lip quivers and he starts to break down, dropping to his knees.

She made her way down the path, an arm held defensively over the comic books in her hand in an attempt to shield them from the light sprinkle that was now dousing the battlefield once again. Stupid rain always... raining on my parade. Oh wow, that was good. Eric couldn't help but chuckles as she thought of the joke. Damn, she was funny. Her lighthearted mood quickly vanished when she caught sight of a figure dawned in RED, specifically the scout, slouched on the ground. Oh great, what now? Cautiously, she approached him, only realizing at a few feet away the state Paulie was in. She paused, a knot forming in her stomach. Shit, this dude looked pretty torn up. Should she just go? She wasn't exactly the go-to-gal for comforting or feeling jams. Reluctantly, she finally asked awkwardly, "Uh, hey, you ok?"

Paulie turns his head. He gives her big eyes, full of tears, squinting because of the dirt and wind. He turns and hugs her tight, whether or not she'd be ready. He wasn't thinking, he couldn't think. He huffs, trying not to cry, and failing miserably. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I know, you hate me, you all do," He takes a shaky, deep breath and bites his lip. "I'm sorry.." ( sorry for the late reply, i totally forgot because of feeligns WOO )

Oh god. Affectionate physical contact. It burned. She awkwardly placed a hand on his shoulder, partially for comfort, as well as to push him away a bit. "Er, chill out there dude. I'm, uh, not exactly your biggest fan yeah, but, doesn't mean other people don't like you...?" It wasn't exactly the ideal way to comfort someone, but she hoped she would at least get an A for effort.

He pulls back, blushing and rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah. Sorry. Just." He sighs, looks at the ground, and shakes his head. "I'm just.. so stupid. I was too affectionate towards Bobby, an... He decided enough was enough and he told me we should stay friends." He laughs slightly. "That's real funny though, considerin' the fact he's in a completely different place. He won't write to me anymore. I'm sure he hates me."

"That's..." She fiddled with her dogtags, glancing between the scout at the BLU base just within sight. "That's rough, buddy," was the best consolidation she could offer. It really did sound like Paulie had been through a lot, and she knew too well that relationships were pretty much time bombs for getting hurt. "Well... like, it's probably his fault, y'know."

"You really think so?" He asks, slightly hopeful. He looks her in the eyes, with a worried, scared expression. His eyes and face are red from crying.

"Y-yeah, totally," she avoided his gaze, instead taking a sudden interest in the building behind them. "I mean you're, uh, nice?" It took a bit of effort to come up with the complement. But, hey, maybe it would make him feel a bit better. Or at least get him to stop getting his feelings all over her.

"Maybe I'm too nice sometimes." He huffs, turning his head to where her sight went. He rubs his own. "I... just wish there was something to do to distract this... empty feeling. I can't sing or draw because I sang and drew him, all the time! Now my art's wasted, trash, down the drain.."

She continued playing with the dogtags around her neck, a pale red now coloring her cheeks. "Uh, like, if you want you can borrow some of my comic books... I mean, 's long as you bring them back in one piece." God, she hoped he would take the offer and just cheer up.

"You... trust me enough to give me your comics?" He swallows hard. He blushes, pouting his lip slightly. "Man, that's... amazing." He smiles really brightly. "I'd... love to read them." [[ i gtg to dinner!!! bbl!!! ]]

She resisted the urge to tell him that she actually let a lot of people borrow her comics, in this case though more out of desperation then trust. "Uh, yeah, sure!" Eric offered an unsure smile and shrugged. "Y-yeah, totally cool, why don't we just, go and do that then. Yeah." Wonderful, he was swallowing the bait. Before this fucker knew it he would be all smiles, and hopefully out of her hair.

Paulie grins and trots along, lit up from the encounter. "Usually when we bump heads, we fight. Glad we didn't this time."

"Yeah, that woulda been a real shame," she muttered in response, downright forcing the words not to be sarcastic. Eric followed behind the fellow scout, her slouched posture giving away just how exasperated she felt about the whole thing. "So like, whaddya want, Batman or something. I have a lot of Batman. Also, you can't borrow most of my Batman."

"Well, whatever you're comfortable with dishin' out. I'd personally love anything you give me, you know?" He shrugs. "Never really read comics before, so."
