She chuckled and stepped further into the room, leaning against the wall next to the doorway. Eric set the ice pack on the counter near by, forgetting about her headache for the time being. "I can see," she commented, "If you want I could give you a hand or somethin, I could. This looks like a lot of shit to go through."

Ian thought for a minute. The job certainly had a lot of running around put into it... maybe asking her for help would make it easier. "Uh, yeah sure... if you're positive you don't mind." He wanted to get it affirmed again, just in case. "You can sit here and read the list to me -- so I won't have to pace back and forth all afternoon." He had gone into this assignment fully prepared to do just that, so getting some assistance to make the work less tedious was a pleasant surprise.
He retrieved a pen from the corner of the desk and scribbled a star in front of the point he was on. "Start here." He advised, and tacked a 'thanks' onto the statement before moving to the cabinets.

Eric grinned and gave a thumbs up. "Cool, reading, I can do that." She had been expecting to be running around the room with him as well, so she was relieved to hear she would only be reading words off of a list. She moved passed him and flopped down in the chair at the desk, propped her feet up on the desk and swiping the list in one swift movement. "Oookei dokie, what do we have here..." She frowned and squinted at the first word under the star. Mersyndol. How was that even pronounced? Mersendol? Merseendol? Mursindol? Well, better pick one. "Uh, Meresendol." Her voice was a bit unsure, but she went with it anyway. "What is that even? Sounds like a brand of shampoo or something."

The soft 'thunk' of Eric's feet hitting the desk caused Ian to glare back in her direction. He didn't really like it, but decided to tolerate it in return for her assistance. The compulsive thoughts were ripped from him anyway once she read the first word, and he chuckled a bit. "Mersyndol." He reiterated as he popped open the cabinet containing the pills. "It's just... another painkiller. Works well as a relaxant." He tried to explain it simply, counting the bottles of the specified medicine in the cubbard. "And... we're good on that -- for now. Next?"

She shrugged at the explanation. Never could have too many painkillers in a place like this, she supposed. Turning her attention back to the list, she listed off the next item and waited for Ian to give her the OK to move on. They continued like this for a long while, only making small talk that usually consisted of Eric asking what a certain medicine was. After awhile, she noticed he was taking longer to count a pile of generic looking pill bottles. Taking advantage of the silence, she fiddled with the paper she'd been crossing names off of and asked, "Soooo, you doin anything the 25th?"

With Eric's company, the task seemed to go a lot smoother. Ian might have said it was enjoyable even, as the two mindlessly chattered the time away. It was amusing hearing the Scout get a little frustrated at what to make of the things on the sheet, and the young man got even more excited when she asked about them. The whole atmosphere was just... a very nice contrast to the one they were last in together, to say the least.
He was eyeing the multivitamins in one of the lower cabinets when she asked her question. Grabbing one of the bottles, he raised himself up and walked back to his desk -- setting the capsules down as a reminder to take them back with him later. "I... don't think so...? Why?" The Medic shifted his weight onto one leg and awaited an answer.

The chair creaked slightly as she leaned back, playing with the paper in her hands by folding and unfolding on of the corners. "Well... like, that's my birthday, so I was wonderin' if maybe you wanted to come with me down to the bar in town...? I mean, like, if you're busy or somethin' that's totally cool or like if you just don't wanna go but, just thought I'd ask." She continued focusing on the paper, too nervous to look up and see what his reaction would be.

As his teammate rambled on nervously, the anxiousness crept up to Ian as well. He coughed in an attempt to shake it off, running his fingers over the top of the vitamin bottle. "No... no, it's no big dea-- well uh, I mean, it is a big deal -- because it's your birthday and all..." Needless to say, he fumbled along worse than she did. A short pause commenced before the Medic continued.
"But nah... I'm pretty sure I have no plans that day. I can go." The last statements were spoken rather quickly, and Ian's own words sparked his curiosity.
"Is there uh, anyone else going?"

A laugh escaped her before she could reply. "Pf, not unless you wanna invite the RED team, which frankly, would make for a pretty shitty party." Eric pulled her feet off of the desk and sat upright before continuing, "Hey, that's cool though! Maybe we could have beer or something. Most people like beer, right?" A grin spread across her face as she thought about it all. It'd been what, two, three years since she'd had a decent birthday? Sure, this was just going to be hanging out with one person, but it was someone she liked, so it was certainly better than nothing.

Ian was sort of relieved that there wasn't a giant mass of people going to this 'party'... but at the same time, couldn't help but feel dismay at being the only one with an invitation. Not because he didn't want to go -- he did -- but the young man wasn't much for liquor at all. In the end though, he'd probably cave and have a few drinks, at least. To fit in. And for her.
"Uh, right." He affirmed with a nod, excluding the fact that he wasn't 'most people'. "Should be a good time either way." He added reassuringly with a small chuckle.

Eric nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah, it'll be awesome." Admittedly, Ian didn't quite seem as enthusiastic as he sounded, but still, she was glad he was willing to go along with it. She pulled the list of medical supplies back up to her face and leaned back in the chair, pulling her legs up to her chest. "Well, wanna get back to this then?" She asked in a chipper tone.

"Might as well." He shrugged in response, knowing that the task wouldn't complete itself. Considering they'd paused at the 'Vs' on the alphabetized list, there couldn't be much more left to check either way. With one quick motion, Ian spun and proceeded in the direction of the many cabinets once more.
"So, uh..." He started as he searched for the whereabouts of an item Eric had read from the page. "What do you want for your birthday, anyway?" Growing up in a home where it was a custom to go out and get something special for a person's natal day -- especially if you knew them well enough -- he had to ask.

She paused in the middle of a word. That was a good question. What did she want? It was a difficult question, considering that the obscene amount of money she made at her job would cover anything she could possibly want. So of course, it seemed almost silly to her to ask for anything. "Uhm..." Eric looked up at the ceiling, trying to think of even the smallest thing she could suggest. "Uhh... you could cover the bill?" She suggested with a chuckle.

Not turning towards her, Ian frowned. "Oh. Well yeah... I can do that." He spoke into the cabinet, response laced with a bit of disappointment. He'd actually asked in hopes of getting something a little more... meaningful, but what's even meaningful to a girl who had the finances to afford anything she desired? He decided not to persist, figuring he should take whatever he could get.
"...We're good on Wigraine tablets. What's next?"

She plucked a pencil off of the desk and put a check next to the tablets name on the list. "Xanax." Eric called in reply. Thankfully, she was nearly to the bottom of the list by now. Sitting in one spot for so long was starting to become tedious. While she waiting for Ian to finish counting the medication, she started spinning the chair around idly, gaining speed with each revolution. At least she wasn't stuck alone in her room. Sure, birds were pretty good company, but being with an actual person was always better. Especially Ian. Ian was pretty cool.
"Oh hey by the way," she said, pushing off of the wall to spin the chair once more, "when is your birthday?"
