Gordon also noticed their Pyro, Elissa splashing about in puddles. He turned his attention to the Soldier. "Yes..... Is there something that you need? Or want?" Gordon asked.

The weather was unseasonably warm, and although Darren had the best of intentions of spending the day revising his teleporter blueprints, he finds himself getting restless. A pleasant breeze stirs his papers, carrying with it the sound of a waterfall. Caroline flutters sleepily about the room, looking mournfully towards the pond. "I think we've done enough work today, don't ya think, sweetheart?" Caroline peeps an affirmative, pecking fondly at his ear. "Alright, alright," Darren says with a lazy grin, shooing her off his shoulder as he collects the battered old fishing rod in the corner. "Been meanin' to take a look at the pond anyway." The little canary settles herself onto the light of his helmet, bobbing her head peacefully as he makes his way down to the little pond. He can hear tense voices echoing across the water, and touches a hand to the spined wrench in his belt out of habit. He could turn around now, go fishing another day... But this is his land too. And he'll be damned if he lets some REDs scare him off it. Instead, he shoulders the fishing pole, sauntering to the water's edge as he regards the three REDs surrounding his team's Soldier. "Afternoon, ya'll," he says evenly, nodding to the Soldier. "Didn't know we were havin' a beach party."

What started as a casual afternoon stroll was quickly escalating into something of a confrontation. And here she was, foolishly unarmed and unprepared for this very situation. The addition of the engineer did little to calm her nerves. "Ehehe, it's err, something of a party I suppose." Fran said with a chuckle and a shaky smile. As long as the conversation stayed calm and casual, she had the smallest chance of avoiding a violent encounter.

"Certainly enough of ya'll around to call it a party," he agrees, not quite sure what to make of the near-army of REDs gathered around the pond. Never letting the broad, easy smile slip from his face, the Engineer begins to unpack his tackle box, Caroline fluttering down to investigate the lures. He selects a little green fish, affixing it to his line, and looks around for a place to sit. "Might want to be careful," he adds casually as he takes a seat on a warm, flat rock. "A body could think ya'll were planning on something, all takin' a stroll on the BLU side of things..."

"....." Gordon had wanted to assure them that this was the RED side of Sawmill but kept quiet. He didn't want violence to erupt either. He was intrigued by the Engineer. ".....So, you're fishing?"

"Yessir," he drawls, casting his line into the pool. "'s what I've got my line out for." The Engineer looks out to the water, silent for a moment as he watches the trout circle his lure. "You a fisherman, scruffy?"

"Ah, indeed." Gordon said. "Haven't been fishing too often as of recently..... Other than that one time....." He thought back to their fishing experience when Blarv had placed a fishing grenade. He sighed but at the very least, the tense atmosphere between RED and BLU would diminish with a slightly pleasant discourse.

Eunice poked her head out of the barn door and looked around the battlefield. Their medic had told her that everyone, even those on the other team, didn't bother each other during ceasefire. She figured now would be a perfect time to scope the landscape and pick good places to place teleporters. Walking out onto the bridge, she heard a splash from a fish in the water below. The chubby engineer peered over the railing and watched some of the wildlife swimming around. It was surprisingly clear for a pond that ran into the water lines.

"Fishing is for hippies," he grumbles, crossing his arms watching as the Engineer cast the rod, an impressive flashing lure splashing into the depths. The scene could almost be called peaceful, but the Soldier keeps one wary eye on the three REDs on the opposite shore.
"What's your real objective, Balbo Bibbins?" John mocks the Sniper. "I could stand here all day."
And he would, he decides. He wasn't going to leave this shore until the REDs turned tail.

"Nothing really." Gordon sighed while raising an eyebrow at his comment. He had heard many Soldiers in the past call him that but couldn't exactly make out what they meant by it. Oh well. He didn't give a damn about what people called him. He scratched his head a little. "I was merely waking up when I happen to see you and Fran standing there. I wouldn't just stand idly by." He placed his hands in his pockets. "Well, there's no point in standing here any longer, I suppose. Have a nice day then. Fran, I may be heading back." He would let the BLU's go off on their own business.

Eunice glanced over at the BLU soldier and the other three of her team mates. From the sounds of it, they were arguing about something. The blonde woman simply went back to her business of admiring the scenery; she wouldn't get involved unless weapons were drawn.

"I, uhh..." Fran really wasn't sure what to do. Common sense told her to return to the base with Gordon and forget this ever happened. Something about the engineer intrigued her however. He certainly seemed reasonable enough. More so than his noisy teammate anyway. But no matter how hard she tried to think of one, there really was no good way to strike up a casual conversation wish someone she's currently being paid obscene amounts of money to kill. There had to be something she could say...
"Excuse me, you, the engineer. Do you, well okay you probably know Eric but, do you know how her shoulder's holding up?"

The Engineer shakes his head at the two men bickering behind him, trying to calculate just how much force he'd need to hook the Sniper by the collar and fling him into the pond. Just in case things turned nasty, of course. Don't ever let it be said that a Caldwell starts a fight. He's so busy fantasizing about a fishing pole strong enough to fling REDs clear to Kingdom Come that he almost misses the Medic's polite query. He sets the pole gently to one side, climbing down from his rock to face the doctor. "Darren Caldwell, ma'am. Pleasure." No reason he can't be civil. "An' I know the little lady, sure. Didn't know her shoulder was givin' her troubles though, otherwise I'd whip her up a Dispenser. What was she doin', playing on your turf again?"

".....Unfortunately." Gordon muttered. "Let's just say that it's no longer going to be pleasant should she want to come over often during ceasefire so freely."

"Ah, Franciska Olander. Likewise." After that lecture she gave Eric on politeness, it would be silly for her to not practice it herself. "And yes. Our own soldier got a bit...carried away. Nearly blew the girl's arm off. It was during a cease-fire and it didn't feel right leaving her like that so I patched it up for her." Fran knew her actions were considered foolish, even by the rest of her teammates, but in that situation it was the only thing that felt right. Besides, where's the challenge in fighting an injured scout? "Knowing her I was hoping she didn't make it worse by getting into any more fights."
