Any other day at any other time, the battlefield would naturally be the last place anyone would go for a pleasant midday stroll. Today however, it was deserted, both of the teams holed up in their own bases and recovering from the last round of fighting. Both teams save for a lone medic leisurely walking along the banks of the pond outside the RED base. Fran had been wrapped up in her research for so long she really just felt like she needed to get out of there. That, and the fact that no matter where she went, Zach always seemed to be lurking around. At least out here she could get away for awhile.
The sawmill grounds were actually quite lovely without all the explosions and screaming going on. Fran could even hear the echos of the waterfall churning away from across the base. She would have loved to go watch it, but she was hardly dumb enough to just walk over to BLU territory. Maybe she could go poking around in some of the other older buildings for clues soon. At least then she could till be productive. At the moment though, she simply stared at her reflection in the murky water, lost in her thoughts.

John treads carefully through the field, past sheds and stumps, his entrenching shovel strapped to his belt. Just because it was ceasefire didn't mean he couldn't patrol the territory.
Ahead he can see movement. He ventures closer, peering out from behind a row of greenery, painfully aware that BLU did not make for good camoflage. A flock of bluejays would be better. Lifting his helmet a bit, he can see a figure leaning over the water. A lab coat, glasses, red gloves. Red. Ha. Leave it to the REDs to move ahead outside of scheduled missions. It was bold not to move under cover of darkness.
He steps out of his cover, shaking off leaves. "HEY, you," he calls from the other side of the pond. "RED. What are you doing here?"

Elissa liked the free time around the base, it gave her time to explore all the new things around her. She had pretty much covered the interior of the base and had even gone so far as to sneak around a bit over on the BLU end. That came to an end pretty quickly, those guys made her slightly uneasy.
She had spent most of the day climbing through the trees and finding all kinds of hiding places. The overturned rock with the mess of worms and beetles underneath it about had her running back to the base, but she soon discovered tree sap and all the sticky glory that came with it. Not that it was a problem or anything, it did burn fairly nicely and it smelled good, it even saved her from dropping the small plastic lighter she seemed to always carry around.
She had been on her way back to the base, it was probably a good idea to eat something given the fact that two pieces of buttered toast could only last for so long, but the muddy puddles that lined the path back toward the base looked so tempting. The pyro decided a meal could wait as she grinned and ran toward a large puddle, if anyone were near her they would have probably received a nice muddy shower.

Gordon was sound asleep on the deck, hiding behind some crates and quietly snoring. He had been practicing shots and observing the surroundings, determining decent spots to snipe from afar. The peace and quiet of the battlefield was rather out of place but at this moment, it was relaxing to not have to listen to constant explosions. The sniper slept rather soundly, hidden from view. He had the tendency to pick odd napping spots. However, he woke up and checked his wristwatch. "Oh, I slept for a good hour?" Gordon sighed. "I should be heading back to the base." He stood up slowly while clutching onto his rifle. He turns to notice that Fran and the BLU Soldier, John, were standing on opposite sides of the pond. "This....." Gordon mumbled as he walked carefully.

Fran nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard the unfamiliar voice yelling at her. She stumbled backwards, frantically searching for the source. She spotted him across the pond, leaves still clinging to his blue uniform. She wasn't close friends with the BLU team or anything, but she was fairly certain she'd never seen him before. Oh man, here we go. Going for a walk sounded like such a great idea three minutes ago, now it was beginning to look like it'd end with her in pieces. And of course she didn't think enough of if to bring any sort of weapon with her. No, that'd just be silly. At least he didn't appear to have any firearms on hand. Large ones anyway. She'd have a little bit of time to retreat if he decided to attack.
"I was-" What should she even say? Maybe it would be safest to just turn and run now.

"You were...?" he prompts, watching the RED get to her feet, flustered. He was unfamiliar with most of the REDs, but he remembered the Spy, and this wasn't him.
She could still be spying. John puzzled over it, taking a few steps until he was at the edge of the water. From here he could see her uniform more clearly. Thick belt. Lots of pockets. No visible weapons, though. Crosses on the arms of her coat. A Medic? But what team would send their Medic to spy?
He decides the best option so far is inaction, so he crosses his arms, fixing the RED with an impatient glare, waiting for a satisfactory answer.

Gordon walked over with his rifle ready carefully, hoping that he wouldn't be noticed too soon. He wasn't going to shoot. At the very least John didn't seem that he was going to attack Fran. Gordon stood at a small distance. He waited for Fran to respond and should anything happen.....

Elissa made her way puddle by puddle back toward the base, the bottoms of her pants a bit more than waterlogged and in definite need of a dry pair of socks. She stopped splashing as soon as she saw the three standing awkwardly around the pond, taking that as her cue to freeze in place. She looked between the three of them, then back down at her red pants and smirked. She mumbled to no one in particular, "Three against one? We could take 'im." One more splash couldn't hurt...

Fran raised her hands defensively. "I was just out for a walk- Wait a second." Come on Fran, now's not the time to act like a scared little girl! Emboldened by the distance between them, she decided to hold her ground and return his incredulous stare. "This is RED territory. What are you doing here?"

He glances to the side, seeing another RED join the Medic on the bank. He could take two REDs easy...if it came to that.
"This is very clearly BLU territory," he says, fighting the urge to reach for his shovel. "If someone were to build a wall between my territory and yours, you would be standing on the wrong side of it."
That was a good idea, actually. Why hadn't they done that? Note: build a defensible wall around base.

"Well then." Gordon muttered quietly as he stood next to Fran. "Pardon us but I believe that this is RED territory as she states."

Elissa splashes into a puddle fairly close to her teammates. She gasps and looks up at them, then quickly pulls her mask over her face, because that clearly makes wet clothes dry again.

Fran let out startled gasp as she looked over to see Gordon standing next to her. Goodness, was she really this easy to sneak up on? It was getting a little silly at this point. "Y-yes, what he said." She crossed her arms and tried to look intimidating, not an easy feat for a woman of her stature. "Who are you anyway? You're the only BLU who hasn't tried to sleep on our couch yet."

"I am the Soldier for BLU." Three to one. Finally things were getting even. "And never would I sleep on the couch of the ENEMY."

"Well yes, that's kind of what I just said..." She eyed him skeptically. Fran wasn't really sure what to think of him just yet. Right now, she was mostly curious to see what he'd do next. "So. Do we have a problem here or..." Now that the medic had teammates to back her up, she spoke much more confidently. Was he crazy enough to take on the three of them alone? Wait, three? Fran glanced over her other shoulder to see the pyro standing there, boots and pants soaked with mud. Where the heck were they all coming from!? She did a quick look around to see if anyone else was planning on sneaking over before she returned her gaze to the soldier.
