Once Eric finally suggested a course of action he could agree with, Ian perked up. "Uh, yeah." He affirmed, taking a quick look around them again. "That sounds like a... better idea." Of course, it still wasn't the best idea -- which was turning tail and going back home -- but the Medic intended to take what he could get.
His heart stopped when he heard the sound of a gun firing off in the distance. Ian froze, and for a moment pain began to blossom inside him -- as if he'd actually been the target. When he noticed a fresh bullet mark in the wall closest to him, the young man exhaled; he hadn't even realized he was holding his breath in the first place.
A hundred and one thoughts were clustering into the front of his mind, but the one that made itself the loudest implored him to get out of the way. Obeying his impulse, Ian grabbed hold of Eric's wrist and darted around the nearest corner. If his observations were correct, the source of the gunshot wouldn't be able to reach them there. ...Hopefully.

She was still lost in her own excited thoughts of destroying expensive clothing when a loud BANG sounded off near by. Before Eric could even register what was going on, a hand on her wrist pulled her behind a presumably safe wall. A gunshot, judging by how far away it was, probably a sniper rifle, was what she'd heard. Yes, that was right. But she was pretty damn sure that she hadn't been shot, and Ian didn't appear to injured ether. So what, had the gunman missed? Were they not aiming for them? Perhaps, and most likely it had been a warning shot. Regardless, she shook her hand free of Ian's wrist and brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "Well, that definitely makes things harder, doesn't it?" She commented casually, as if the obstacle in their path was nothing more then an inconvenient fallen log.

"Ah." Through the scope of his rifle, Gordon watched as the Medic grabbed Eric's hand and they hid away to safety behind a wall. He lowered his rifle and closed the scope.
"Looks like it was enough to give them a small scare." Gordon whispered. "Would it be too much to kill them?"
They didn't seem to be armed but what business could they have with RED? Gordon decided to climb down from his perch and confront them. However, he made sure to approach with caution.

Fran's attention was ripped from the book at the sound of a muffled gunshot outside. Were they under attack? Jumping to her feet and tossing her still unfinished novel on the chair, hurried back to her office.
"Fan det, this was supposed to be my day off..." She grumbled, retrieving her bonesaw and hurrying outside the base. Other than the initial shot, she hadn't heard anything else to suggest any fighting going on. Then of course, once she set foot outside the medic realized she had no idea where the commotion was happening at all. Hearing the thunk of boots hitting wood, Fran spun around to see Gordon descending from the roof.
"Ah, Gordon! Did you fire that shot? Are they attacking?"

Ian was bent over, hands on his knees, trying to wait for his body to catch up with the rest of him. When Eric spoke, his face distorted and he glanced up at her. Did the gunfire actually not shake her at all...? Or did she just not care? The Medic figured it was probably a little of both. Either way, she obviously hadn't been hurt -- which he decided was the thing to be thankful for.
"Sorry." He apologized flatly for pulling her aside while raising himself upright. "I guess now we have no choice but to... go around, then..." Realizing that any other suggestions would fall on deaf ears, Ian gestured for the Scout to lead the two once again.

Eric shrugged. "Don't be, you're fine." She ran a hand through her hair and stifled a sigh. Now that she was positive that someone from the RED team had spotted them, she had to wonder if it would be more trouble then it was worth to continue their endeavor. After all, if several REDs cornered them in the base, they'd be undoubtedly fucked. But, at the same time, Eric now had her heart set on doing something to Zacharies room as revenge for several of his actions. Oh well, they'd gotten this far, and Ian was even suggesting they continue, so perhaps she could just convince herself they were in too deep to go back.
She opened her mouth to reply to the medic, but paused. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed two red clad figures approaching from a distance. For a moment Eric panicked. Should they run? With as far away as they were, the BLU members could easily get away. But, no, if the REDs had wanted a fight, they would have just shot the two when they had the chance. If nothing else, she decided, they could wait and see the RED teams intentions before fleeing.

"Yes." Gordon answered as he slipped another bullet out of his pocket. "They don't seem to be attacking but they seem to have some kind of business to be coming here like this. They're unarmed." He loaded the bullet into the gun quickly. "I don't think there's any reason to kill them. Let's see what they want." He looked at where the two BLU mercenaries were hiding. Gordon had kept his eye there and it didn't seem like they went anywhere, even bringing the scope out at times.
As Gordon began to walk towards them, he motioned for Franciska to follow.
"What are you two doing here?" Gordon demanded. "Know that that shot was a warning!"

"What?" Ian noticed Eric hesitate to speak and turned to look in the same direction as her. He spotted the two individuals quickly -- sporting red and making their way over to them. All of the jumbled thoughts from before began to rush back to his head.
No. Stay calm and think. He ordered himself, wanting to use this time to analyze the approaching duo. From the looks of their weapons, he identified them of the Medic and Sniper class; the latter most likely having been the culprit of the shot made a few minutes prior. They didn't seem to be expressing hostility... at least for the moment. Otherwise, he and Eric probably would have been sent packing to respawn by now. Maybe any drastic circumstance could be avoided if they were to tread with caution.
"We were just--" Ian fumbled with his speech after the Sniper insisted they explain themselves. "I mean, Eric wanted to--" He was trying to be honest, but the words just refused to cooperate.

Ignoring Ian's fumbling she replied bluntly to the sniper, "We were going to fuck with some of Zach's stuff to get back at him for being a jackass on multiple occasions." Might as well be honest. Although Eric didn't care for their medic in the slightest, Gordon was cool, with any luck he would understand that their intentions, while not completely innocent, were absolutely called for and that this was all their spies own fault. Or he would just tell them to go home. Or he would shoot them right there. She was really hoping his response wouldn't be either of those.

".....Huh." Gordon stared and blinked rather blankly at the two of them with his mouth slightly open in disbelief before he began to speak.
"Really....." Gordon sighed. "Is that all?" He wasn't completely sure how to react. It was really quite juvenile of them to want to get revenge on Zacharie for this. As mercenaries, they needed to be prepared for whatever conflict would arise between the teams. And not resort to stuff like this.
"If you really want to get back at Zacharie for the things he has done, then do so on the battlefield. With your best efforts as well. Because none of us will let you BLU mercenaries do as you please too easily." He gave a small smirk. "Sure, Zacharie can be rather shifty, but what else do you really expect? I'm not sure whether to let you do as you please. What do you think about this then, Fran?"

Fran followed close behind Gordon, saw at the ready. Her guard dropped, however, as soon as she laid eyes on the culprit.
"Eric?" She was almost disappointed really. Here she was getting all worked up for a fight and who should it be but the troublesome little scout and...hold on. Her companion was definitely someone new. Going by his flustered reaction, she guessed that he wasn't much of a threat. Then of course, that was a pretty horrible assumption to make around here. She was about to ask his name, but then Eric interjected with the reason for their little visit.
"You want to....what?" Fran stared at the scout with a furrowed brow, trying to make sense of what she was saying. So...they really came all the way over here, under reasonable threat of death, just for some very poorly thought out petty revenge? They didn't really, honestly think they'd just waltz over to the RED base unarmed and get away with it, did they?
"Don't misunderstand me, I'm fine with you wanting to mess with Zacharie. God knows he's probably done more than enough to deserve it. But we really can't let you in our base anymore." She frowned, suddenly more interested in scratching at a dark stain on the handle of her bonesaw then she was in arguing with her anymore. "Honestly Eric, I can't believe we're still having this conversation."

Ian leaned against the wall, listening intently as the two REDs lectured Eric... well no, both of them. Even though he'd known trying to come to their base was a bad idea all along, hearing the opinion echo from two other people made it seem even worse. It almost felt as if they were being ridiculed. He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, glasses being pushed up in the process.
Of course, he wasn't going to argue with the other team. His 'flight' senses had been well above its peak before he and Eric arrived at their respawn room -- and that's not even taking into consideration the anxiousness washing over him as a result of the situation they were in now. If there was ever a chance for him to convince the Scout to abort her plans, this would be it.
Ian lifted up from the wall again, ready to make his leave. "...Well, you heard them." His tone was short, but he spoke loud enough to avoid being misheard. "We should go."

"You 'can't believe we're still having this conversation'? Wow, who the fuck are, my mom? Y'know we weren't exactly just gonna walk up to your base and knock on the goddamn door," Eric paused to roll her eyes before finishing with: "No wonder even your own spy let me call you a stupid bitch."
As much as she wanted to stay and continue arguing with the woman, Ian's prompting was what it took to convince her it was time to go. "Yeah, lets bounce," she muttered before turning and starting to walk away from the two REDs.

".....Good bye." Gordon said with a small wave. He turned back to face Franciska. "At least fighting didn't break out right? Come on, let's head back to the base. At least, I don't know if they're going to come back so I'll keep a watch. Just go back and do whatever it was you were doing. Sorry to interrupt you then." He held his rifle in both hands, almost ready to shoot down whoever would dare to go to their base.

It certainly didn't take a lot to set Eric off, did it? Fran certainly hadn't said anything out of line and now she was the one stomping away offended? The little brat was lucky Gordon didn't just shoot her on sight, something Fran now wished he would have had the good sense to have done.
She was already bristling at the scout's trademark bad attitude, but it was that last little off-handed remark that really grabbed her attention. Lurching forward, she clamped a hand on Eric's shoulder. "Wait, what did he...well, what did you say?" It was hard to decide which of them to be more angry with. She'd have to hear the whole story before she could make that choice.
