"Hang on for a moment. This should only take a second." Gordon muttered. He also took a flashlight, turned it on, and gave it a few hits to make it brighter. He shone it in the direction of the noise. Indeed, it seemed that a box had fallen over. It was rather large in size but the box itself didn't look like it was damaged from the fall. Several smaller boxes were scattered around. Gordon attempted to lift the box with success but it was quite heavy. After lifting it back to where he presumed it was, he felt something brush by his shoulder and an icy grip on his upper arm. Startled, he quickly shook his right arm violently, proceeding to knock over more boxes. Was it Zacharie who decided to pull another prank? Gordon didn't care as the chills didn't stop. He shook slightly as he lifted the light boxes he had knocked over. "I'm sorry..... That was...... unintentional."

On reflex of the loud sound, the engineer pulled out her pistol and turned around. You could tell she had been on the mercenary job for a while with the sharp alert mode she was in. "Let me go too," she repleid.

Fran, on the other hand, had no intentions of moving. "Wonderful. I'll just stay here. And uhhhh.....watch the board...." This was half true anyway. If something did happen, she'd like to be in the light where she could observe and take note of it. As the other slipped into the darkness, the medic sat in watchful anticipation. When she heard more crashing and banging from across the basement, her dread only deepened. "Are...are you guys okay over there?"

"Y'sure?" she asked, then began to wave her off. "Okay then, have fun... in th' dark.... all alone... with nuthin' but a needlegun n' bonesaw t' protect y'...." With that, the engineer started walking up the stairs.

Meanwhile Zacharie was quite a distance away from the crates, examining the back wall they were resting against. He turned to Gordon after he had knocked more boxes over. "What was that, are you alright?" He asked, shining his flashlight at Gordon. He appeared physically fine, what was going on?

"I felt something brush by my shoulder and something hold on to my arm with a very cold feeling accompanying." Gordon regained some of his calm. "I can't say I feel comfortable but I'll manage. Anything else that could have caused a crash?" He believed that it was indeed the box but further investigation would be called for. He glanced at each of his teammates, each of them in different places but noticed that he had spotted four figures. Out of the three that he knew were with him, he could also see a darker figure perhaps that faded. He gulped quietly. Must have been something out of place or anything really. No more mystery novels for him at night.

Her nerves finally getting the better of her, Fran climbed to her feet and followed the flashlight beam until she stood next to Zacharie. "Gordon, are you sure you're okay? You know we can end this whenever you want." She spoke as if she wasn't the one shivering in terror at that moment. If she wasn't so shaken up, she might have recalled reading something about how important it was not to break the circle before dismissing the spirit and ending the ceremony. There was also the matter of something far more urgent catching her attention. "Zacharie you....your jacket's on fire!"

Zacharie had been too busy concentrating on the matter at hand to notice, that yes, his jacket was on fire. “I… what?” He turned and indeed his right arm had caught fire, the smell of burning fabric suddenly becoming apparent. For once the man had lost his cool and calm composure, he looked genuinely distressed. He absolutely hated fire; it was the last thing he wanted right now. “Fils de pute!” He shouted, quickly pulling off his coat and tossing it on to the dusty ground. He stomped on it several times to put out the flame.

The fire was alarming but as soon as Zacharie tossed his coat down and stomped on it the fires disappeared. The cause of the fire..... It wasn't from the candles for certain. Then, his lighter? It wasn't likely..... Could it really have been the ghost Pyro? Gordon shook his head not in disbelief, rather trying to refocus his mind after these occurences. "Are you alright?" Gordon asked Zacharie.

He was breathing pretty heavily from the shock, looking down at his coat, no longer on fire. But as soon as Zacharie noticed Gordon was talking to him he snapped back to reality.
“I’m fine. I’m fine.” He said as he smoothed back his hair a bit, it seemed that he cooled down considerably fast. “Just. Who set my coat on fire?” The spy asked with an uneasy chuckle, looking around. Who else could have done it? “Ha, or perhaps it happened when I got up, that’s right.” It was obvious that he was trying to reason with himself at this point, waiting for no-one’s answer.

Fran had fallen silent. It wasn't just because she'd never seen the spy act so genuinely frightened before, but his reaction was more than enough to prove he wasn't behind any of this. She had a deep, gnawing fear in the pit of her stomach that someone would really get hurt if they continued any longer. "Let's just...pack up and call it a night, okay?" Maybe it was just a result of all the panic, but the oppressive, dark atmosphere was beginning to make her feel almost physically ill. "Can we please...just get the lights turned back on now or something, please?"

".....Ha..........Gh........" Gordon sounded as if he was in slight pain as he looked a bit weak and pale in the face slightly. "Y-Yeah........ Let's do that then and....." He groaned. He didn't know why he was in pain but suddenly he felt it everywhere. Something was definitely up and they all sensed it. They were all obviously unnerved by this so the sooner they left the better. Gordon himself didn't know why but he swore he could feel a presence looming closer. An icy and painful pang shot down his spine as he turned and saw..... Nothing. The darkness was almost suffocating now. Gordon had grown to become accustomed to the dark but there was just...... Something..... That wasn't right and was..... Seemingly going to cause more trouble for them. He walked over to the light switch and flicked on the lights. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something scrawled over the wall next to the light switch which caused him to back away a little. It surely wasn't there before. And the fact that it was written in a thick, red liquid did not ease his nerves one bit.

"I AM HERE. I AM INDEED AMONG YOU. I AM HERE."
The words were sprawled over the wall with a fresh, dripping red liquid that flowed to the ground and made small pools. It was large and very messy.

After picking up his now ruined coat, Zacharie turned to respond to Fran, but it was too late. Something horrible caught his eye and prevented him from answering. That writing, on the wall. Was it paint? Or something worse?
“This is either an elaborate prank or something is terribly wrong.” He looked visibly shaken once again, but he attempted to hide it this time. “We are leaving, now.” The spy looked to his team mates with a nod, and then started moving towards the basement’s exit.

Fran was way ahead of him. Literally. She was already halfway up the stairs. The message on the wall was the final straw, she just couldn't stand to be in that basement a moment longer. Somebody wrote that there. Somebody had to. There was just no other possible way that could have happened. There was that, and the crashing, and Zacharie's sleeve catching fire when the candles were on the other side of the room...Fran truly didn't expect to encounter this many strange things, especially during their very first test. Maybe all those things she read and chose to ignore about how dangerous Ouija boards were and how you should never use them weren't so ludicrous after all.
Still, with such dramatic results this quickly, this was shaping up to be quite the interesting experiment. It might even continue someday if she ever worked up the courage to venture down into the basement again. That won't be any time soon.
It was only when she reached the common room that Fran realized just how heard her heart was pounding. She took a seat on the couch, clipboard still clutched in an iron grip. Though the atmosphere had improved greatly, the dark, oppressive feeling never completely went away. It lingered along with a nagging voice in the back of Fran's mind that kept telling her she'd just made an awful mistake.
